Annabelle 15 months
Annabelle had her 15 month checkup recently. She now weighs 23 and a half pounds. She is wearing 18mon-2T clothes and a size 5 diaper. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height. She is just starting to walk, but is very timid about it. She loves to so "so big" with Grammy. She just started saying the word sit and she's very proud to say it. Her favorite phrase is "thank you babye." She still has that funny little crawl. She is super fast at it. She is definitely in a momma stage. She is getting in 5 teeth and she really only wants to be held by me.
She enjoyed 2 weeks of Grammy watching her while Nanny Val was on vacation. Then she enjoyed 4 days of being an only child while Brooke was with Grams and Poppa.
She is very cuddly and sweet. She's the BEST eater and sleeper.
Brooke is a big girl swimmer
We were so proud of Brooke for her great improvement in swimming. Her teacher promoted her to the next class because she learned all the skills. We had to get special permission for her to advance to the next class because the age requirement is 4. They made an exception and Brooke gets to take one more swim session with Ms. Megan. Yay Brooke!!
We also celebrated a great summer of reading with the library. They awarded Brooke with a free french fry from McDonalds and a free ice cream from Chick-fil-A. She was very proud to claim her prizes.
We got to celebrate Dylan's birthday party at David and Amy's house. They did a whole Nintendo theme. David even made the cake. It turned out so cute! Happy Birthday Dylan.
Brooke's new school
We made a very tough decision to move Brooke from Primrose last month. She was starting to have separations issues and didn't enjoy being at school. Thankfully, a neighbor recommended a preschool academy, Bright Star,
that was right across the street. I went to interview and tour and the school and instantly knew it was the right place for Brooke.
Brooke and I went to meet her class on the last Friday in July. I stayed with her in class for a several hours. Her teach, Mrs. Jessette is smart, fun and wonderful with managing a group of 3's. I was so impressed with the amount of activities and learning she could do and keep the group in control. The school has a cafeteria where all kids eat lunch. They have a science room with pets, an indoor and outdoor playground and their own splash pad. They also have a music teacher that comes in twice a month to teach music to all the children.
Brooke has to wear a uniform at this school. I think she actually likes that part. Her school has a big and little door at the front entrance. She is very proud to go in the little door all by herself.
I am so glad we were able to get her registered at this new school.
Here are a few of her artwork items from the last month at Primrose.
Summertime girls
These girls just love the pool. We are so thankful to have a neighborhood pool right down the street. Brooke's swimming gets better every week and Annabelle has no fear with the water. We are enjoying all the pool time with them this summer.
Annabelle recently had her first pancake. She loved it; but turned into the biggest sticky mess. I cannot keep her from rubbing syrup in her hair. Pancakes are going to be a rare treat for her until that phase passes.
How cute do the girls look playing restaurant at their playroom table?
