Annabelle's 18 month check-up
I took Annabelle for her 18 month check up on the day after Halloween. She weighed in at 24 pounds 10 oz and 33 1/2 inches tall. That puts her in the 55% for weight and the 90% for height. She is a happy happy girl. Everything checked out great at the doctor and she didn't even need shots.
Annabelle loves to watch movies. This is usually her first word in the morning and she says is all day, "MOOOvie." She is running and climbing everywhere. She wants to be just like big sister Brooke. She cannot reach the table to color in the normal chair so she stands up and leans against the table. This has results in multiple falls and a couple cheek bruises. The bumps haven't slowed her down a bit.
She is getting more verbal each day. She says yes ma'm, Happy Birthday, no thank you, phone, cup, truck, bike, swing, grammy, crayon, marker, paper, write, bye guys, alright, blanket, and teeth.
She is still very adventurous with food, but insists on doing it all by herself. She has almost mastered eating yogurt without making a huge mess.
She is still very cuddly and loves to read books. She loves playing in the nursery at church. She doesn't cry at all when I drop her off.
She does not like to share at all. She will scream her head off if Brooke takes a toy from her. She also pinches when she doesn't get her way. We are working on these things.
She is wearing 24 month and 2T clothes and a size 5 diaper. She just moved up to a 5 1/2 or size 6 shoe. She is very into accessories. She wants to have her bow, necklace and purse on each day.
We love our sweet Annabelle!
Halloween Party and Trick-or-Treating
Our friends from church the Roberson's hosted a Halloween Party at their house in Georgetown. We met their for dinner and then went trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. All the houses in their area go "all out" for Halloween. The decorations were awesome and all the houses participate. Brooke was not one bit shy. She introduced herself at every house and asked people "what's your name." She got a little too choosy with the candy handouts so Keith had to pull her aside and explain that you take whatever piece you are given. Annabelle stayed pretty close to me. She really liked her bumble bee basket. She did walk most of the way on her own.
When we got back to the Roberson's all the adults participated in an apple peeling contest. Brian Clemmons won the title this year! Keith and I won best cosutme for our Minion outfits. I think people were most amused by Keith's giant diaper.
At the end of the night we put the girls in PJ's and let them watch Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. They had a great Halloween!
Halloween at Brooke's School
Brooke's Pre-school had a Halloween Costume Parade and party on Halloween morning. They are so great to let her join activities that are taking place on Tu/Th when she is home with me. Grammy was able to babysit Annabelle; so I took Brooke to the party. She had a great time dressing up in her Dorothy costume and eating cupcakes at 10 AM! All the different classrooms handed out candy to the Halloween parade. It was so cute!
First birthday party for a Bright Star Preschool Friend
Brooke was very excited to go to Zachary's birthday party. He is a friend from her pre-school class. I think she was even more excited that you could dress up for the party. All the kids wore Halloween costumes since the party happened the weekend before Halloween. Zachary's family had a traveling petting zoo and face painter for the kids. Both were a big hit!! They also did a big Pinata in the backyard. They had a coolest backyard/patio setup. You could cook a gourmet meal for 200 people on their patio. It was the perfect setting for the party and it was a beautiful day to be outside. Keith stayed home with Annabel so she could get a nap. Later that night Keith and I went to a concert in downtown Austin at Stubbs Barbeque. We got to see the Voice winner Cassadee Pope and Texas favorite Pat Green. Big thanks to Grammy for babysitting the girls. We had a fun night!
