Grill from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kelly
Brooke got a very realistic grill from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kelly. It came with play food and condiments. I think it was her favorite present.
Annabelle 8 months
Annabelle also turned 8 months on December 30th. She is such a happy baby! She loves her big sister! Playing with Brooke is most definitely her favorite thing; besides eating! She is a great eater. This month we started the basic fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed all of it. We think she is right around 16 pounds. She is wearing 9-12 month clothes and 12 month pajamas. She wears a size 3 diaper and sleeps 11-12 hours each night. She is making a lot of baby sounds but hasn't put any words together. Brooke taught her how to clap and she gets so excited about it. She still doesn't like being on her tummy. We have been working with her every day trying to get her to crawl. She is just not interested. She would much rather sit up and watch her sister.
Happy 6 Year Anniversary
Brooke's School Art and Happy Grams
Christmas Day
We had a wonderful Christmas Day at Gram's and Poppa's house. The girls opened their stockings and would have been happy with those toys. It was hard to convince them to stop playing with them and open other gifts. We opened the box from Josh and Stephanie first. They were able to watch us on skype. They sent a lot of nice things for the girls. Their last present was an envelope with a positive pregnancy test. Surprise! We were all excited for them. Brooke opened her special present from us next. Keith set a timer on it so it would ring during present time. She was very surprised to see her very own iphone to play games. (the phone does not work). During this time Mark snuck the girls' bikes in the dining room. Claire noticed them first. They were so excited to see what Santa brought. It was too bad the weather turned icy; or they would have been riding around outside. They did a few laps around the kitchen.
At one point during the present opening, Brooke setup her own foot dr. office. She had a mat spread out and she was working on her feet with the play doctor toys. Keith was very proud. You just don't realize how much kids are observing.
Twyla's parents and sister came over for brunch later. Twyla's dad opened a big container of Peanuts. Brooke walked right over and started eating some of the peanuts and feeding some to Twyla's dad. It was pretty cute.
They took great naps that afternoon and then played for the rest of the day. It was a really fun Christmas.
Christmas Eve
We headed over to Nee Naw's for McSpadden Christmas Eve. The girls looked so cute in their fancy dresses. We all took family pictures as soon as we got there. That way everyone still looked pretty put together. The cousins had a great time running around and playing at Nee Naw's. They were overwhelmed with the amount of presents they had to open. Annabelle had no idea what was going on. She did manage to eat and kind of choke on some of the wrapping paper. Luckily I could fish it out of her mouth. Brooke got so many nice gifts; I couldn't even keep track of who they were from. At the end of the night, we dressed them in their matching PJ's from Grams. They were so cute!
Once we got back to Gram's and Poppa's house; we sprinkled the reindeer snow in the backyard so santa would know where to land. Grams made a big pallet in the back room so the girls could all sleep together on Christmas Eve. She wanted to start a tradition of reading them the Night Before Christmas. I think she was a little early on this tradition. It took her almost 2 hours to get everyone asleep. The girls get so rowdy when they are all together. They made it in there until about 4 AM. Lauren woke up crying and Claire had peed in her panties. We had a big storm that night so Big Mark and I carried them out in the rain to the trailer where Mark and Shevawn were sleeping. We might want to wait a couple years before trying that again.
